About Us
Hey! Welcome to Midwestern Math Teacher, a math blog by Kelsey Lathrop! I am so glad you are here to share in ideas, gather ideas, and create engaging math classrooms for our students. Here to bring you unique engaging activities for your students. I try and strive for problem based learning activities and assessments. Here to create a platform we can share ideas and help each other become the best teachers we can!
A little information about me, I graduated from Wichita State University, Go Shoxs! I was a former collegiate athlete where I competed in the 800 meters before a left hip labrum tear side lined me. After I graduated I started coaching and then got hired to teach math. I just graduated with my masters degree during the heart of the pandemic. I got my masters in Curriculum Instruction with an emphasis in Curriculum Design! I now teach and coach track and cross country.
I have taught Algebra I for 4 years, Algebra III for 2 years, and this year I am teaching Applied Geometry.
I also have 2 dogs, a 4 year old husky, Barkley, and 2 year old golden/ boarder collie mix, Archie, and a 5 year old cat, Loki!
Thank you for stoping by!
